Abraham, Noah, Moses And Rebel All Were Baptized

1, Baptize into the Lord.

Our baptism stands for being into the Lord. Baptism is buying people to Himself by using the blood of Jesus and washing sin away.

2, Israel people were baptized

Israel people walk through the dry land in Red Sea, stands for baptism into the Lord.

Noah family stay inside the Ark, through the flood. The water stands for baptism.Baptism save people through Jesus. They were saved by the water.

4, The Rebel was baptized.

Baptism is to crusify with Jesus in the cross.The Rebel who crucified with Jesus was receiving baptism. Crucification together with Jesus stands for baptism.

Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,that we should no longer be slaves to sin— (Romans 6:3-6 NIV)

5, Abraham was baptized.

Abraham received circumsicion which exactly refer to baptism in new convenant. Baptism washs sins away from heart Which is true circumcision. The circucision was in the heart.

And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.’ (Acts 22:16 NIV)

Any uncircumcised male, who has not been circumcised in the flesh, will be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant.” (Genesis 17:14 NIV)

A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person’s praise is not from other people, but from God. (Romans 2:28-29 NIV)

6, Eve and Adam were baptized.

God use the skin of animal to cloth them. Kiliing animal and shedding blood to cover their shame. It means Jesus cover their sin. Baptism into Jesus is to put on Jesus as cloth.

The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. (Genesis 3:21)

In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. (Hebrews 9:22 NIV)

7, Baptism refers to water baptism.

Baptism in bible refer to water baptism. The way of water baptism is from John the Baptist. Various kinds of forms in old convenant all point to the way of water baptism. One lord, one Faith and one baptism.

“Surely no one can stand in the way of their being baptized with water. They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.” So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked Peter to stay with them for a few days. (Acts 10:47-48 NIV)

8, Mode of water baptism is only one.

If the mode of water baptism is incorrect, people cannot receive Holy Spirit. Water baptism is the words of God.

If the mode of water baptism is wrong, it means the teaching is wrong. If the teaching is wrong, people cannot receive the Holy Spirit. Thus, Paul baptized Ephesus believers again. Only after receiving true mode of water baptism, they received the Holy Spirit.

He had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and he spoke with great fervor and taught about Jesus accurately, though he knew only the baptism of John. He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately. (Acts 18:25-26 NIV)

While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?” “John’s baptism,” they replied. Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. There were about twelve men in all. (Acts 19:1-7 NIV)
